Al Calante

Lovely place, nice furnishings, polite and competent staff. "Al calante" is certainly not the usual place to have a casual aperitif, here you can sit down and enjoy the sunset while tasting a glass of wine and some gourmet appetizers. At least this is the intention of the place and I must say that they have almost achieved their goal. I would have given it 5 stars if there hadn't been some obvious inconsistencies between the menu description of the dishes and cocktails and what arrived at the table. In front of what was described as a "crispy wafer with red prawn and stracciatella foam" a canapé was served with what was neither stracciatella nor foam to taste and a red prawn whose flavor was unfortunately covered by the overabundance of cheese. The fish panelle, however, are good, and the swordfish, salmon and octopus carpaccio is excellent. Ultimately, the place is highly recommended with the hope that more attention will be paid to the faithfulness of what is offered to the customer.

Beautiful location on the arm of the small port of San Leone, excellent for the view of the sunset and the coast. I liked the decor and the greenery but it does not provide enough shade on hot days. However, there are not many seats, so at peak times you can easily remain standing. The cocktails didn't excite us and were only accompanied by chips so we had to order from the menu whose prices seemed exaggerated to me (even compared to the portions then served). The place is worth it but I would go back just to have a quick drink in those 20 minutes around sunset.
